Process Engineer – Thermal energy systems & process design

Do you thrive at the intersection of process design, piping engineering and hands-on execution? Do you take satisfaction in seeing complex technical deliveries land right – with the documentation and quality in order? Then you might be the person we’re looking for.

You know what a well-crafted P&I diagram requires. You’ve stood in the middle of a project where technical interfaces had to be coordinated across disciplines, and you thrive on keeping the overview when complexity rises.

We develop technical solutions that make a real difference for our customers – and we need you to ensure quality, structure and progress on the process engineering deliveries.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be a central part of our project team, working closely with technicians, project managers and external partners.

In practice, this means: Design and drafting of process flow and P&I diagrams, along with dimensioning of pipes and piping systems. Preparing and maintaining component lists and coordinating technical interfaces across the project. Collecting and structuring final documentation – and making sure the handover to operations lands right.

Who are you?

You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience – preferably from waterborne energy plants, process plants or similar. You are a trained mechanical engineer, process engineer or have an equivalent technical background. You know P&I diagrams and process flows from the practical side, and you are comfortable with KKS numbering, material selection and relevant standards and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of technical suppliers and components in liquid-borne energy systems is an advantage.

Most importantly, you take responsibility, work in a structured way and find practical solutions. You communicate clearly in Danish and English at a high level, and if you speak German, that’s a plus.

What do we offer?

A workplace in Aalborg with few travel days. An informal culture with good spirits, short decision paths and strong professional pride. The opportunity to shape your own tasks and develop in a team of skilled colleagues across disciplines. Attractive employment terms and salary according to qualifications.

About aalborg hc systems

At aalborg hc systems, we design and deliver thermal systems for district heating networks in the Nordics, Germany and the rest of Europe. We help utilities and municipalities electrify and transform their heat supply – without compromising on security of supply or economy. It’s a specialised discipline that only a few companies in Europe master – and we’re proud of that.

We were formerly the low temperature division of Aalborg CSP and continue from 2026 as an independent company within the German Alois Müller Group. In Aalborg we are around 25 employees – and around 1,100 across the group.
